Jim has been involved in the practice of law in Parker since 1987. Previously, he was admitted to the Wyoming State Bar in 1980. Jim is a past member of the Real Estate section of the Colorado Bar Association. He has been involved in all aspects of real estate legal representation including the acquisition, development and ownership formation phases for his clients.

As an acquisition and development attorney, he was involved in multiple shopping center purchases and sales, apartment projects, residential/agricultural developments, contract negotiations, drafting and review. The combined per-square footage of these retail, commercial and residential properties exceed one million square feet and has closed, participated in the pre-sale negotiations, contract drafting, due diligence review and research and closings that exceed $150,000,000.00. He has served as the primary lead attorney for the acquisition, financing, construction, and development of various real estate ventures, counsel for the lender entity including zoning, annexations and other issues facing developers in the acquisition and sale of individual residential properties, commercial land as well as ranch/agricultural land and distressed property sales.

As part of his practice, he has been involved in entity formation for many Douglas County and Front Range businesses. These entity formations include partnerships, corporations and limited liability companies. Since 1982, Jim has also represented numerous consumers and creditors in debtor work-outs, Chapter 7 and 13 filings in Colorado and Wyoming and is a frequent participant in legal education classes in the area. He has assisted countless companies with entity formation either as a corporation, a limited liability company (LLC) as well as partnerships
